The North Carolina Alliance for Retired Americans, a grassroots advocacy organization with over 52,000 members statewide, has endorsed Moe Davis for Congress in North Carolina’s 11th District.
“Moe Davis understands the challenges facing older Americans, and retirees in North Carolina can be confident that he will fight for our interests in Washington,” Bill Dworkin, president of the North Carolina Alliance for Retired Americans, said in a press release. “He knows that seniors have earned the Social Security and Medicare benefits they rely on, and he will battle every day to protect our retirement security. We are proud to endorse him.
“We can count on Moe to fight to allow Medicare to negotiate lower prices for the life-saving prescription drugs older people rely on. Now more than ever, it is vital that we have senators and representatives in Washington who care about North Carolina seniors and vote accordingly. In 2020 voting for the right person is literally a matter of life or death.”
Republican Madison Cawthorn supports President Trump’s plan to make payroll tax cuts permanent. Those cuts would cause Social Security to become insolvent as early as 2023. Colonel Davis (USAF, Ret.) will support earned benefits such as Social Security and Medicare and work to ensure they are fully funded.
“As a member of Congress, I’ll fight Republican efforts to privatize veterans’ healthcare and the Postal Service, as well as their assault on Social Security and Medicare benefits,’’ Davis said. “We need to ensure that the interests of ordinary people come first ahead of corporate profits.”
