NORTH CAROLINA 11th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE MOE DAVIS

RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT FROM PATRIOTIC MILLIONAIRES

ASHEVILLE — The Patriotic Millionaires, a group of high net-worth Americans working to raise taxes on the wealthy, guarantee a living wage for workers and promote equal political power for everyone regardless of wealth, has endorsed Moe Davis for Congress in North Carolina’s 11th District.

“We’re excited to endorse Retired Air Force Colonel Moe Davis,’’ the organization posted on Twitter. “He has a long record of leadership and integrity — values that will help him deliver for Western North Carolinians on Capitol Hill.”

Davis, 61, spent 25 years in the military and was Chief Prosecutor at Guantanamo Bay and Director of the Air Force Judiciary before retiring. He later served as a national security expert for Congress, a law professor at Howard University and judge with the U.S. Department of Labor.

Davis won the Democratic primary in the 11th Congressional District on March 3 on a platform focused on returning integrity, honesty and humanity to government, seeking affordable healthcare for all, better jobs through investment in green energy and green technology and greater support for rural education.

“North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District suffered from a high poverty rate and a high rate of residents without healthcare coverage before the COVID-19 crisis struck and made those problems even more acute,’’ Davis said. “I share the vision of the Patriotic Millionaires to address inequality through policies that are fair to all Americans and not tilted in favor of those with the means to advance their own self-interests. I appreciate the Patriotic Millionaires endorsing me for Congress and I look forward to working toward our shared vision of economic and social justice.”
