Moe Davis, Democratic nominee for Congress in North Carolina’s 11th District, has earned an endorsement from the Progressive Turnout Project.
The Progressive Turnout Project is a grassroots-funded organization that reaches out to Democratic voters and works to improve turnout at elections. The organization will focus on voters in swing states, which will be critical in electing Joe Biden for President, Cal Cunningham for U.S. Senate and a slate of Democrats for Congress in North Carolina including Moe Davis.
“Progressive Turnout Project is excited to endorse 101 bold candidates this year and to be running the largest national field program to elect Democrats up and down the ballot,” Alex Morgan, Executive Director of Progressive Turnout Project, said in a press release announcing its endorsements. “To build a movement, Democrats need to connect with voters in ways that don’t just rely on expensive, impersonal tv ads. That’s why Progressive Turnout Project will be knocking on over 10 million doors and mobilizing millions of voters who don’t always go to the polls.”
Progressive Turnout Project plans to spend a total of $52.5 million overall to boost voter turnout in 2020. The funds will allow PTP to knock on more than 10 million doors in 17 battleground states.
“I’m pleased to receive the support of the Progressive Turnout Project,’’ Davis said. “I’m proud to be progressive and to join others who choose to lean into the future. If we’re not progressing, we’re either standing still or we’re in retreat, and either way we’re falling behind. We need for progressives to link arms, move forward, and turn out the vote in 2020 like the future of the country depends on it … it does.”
