Moe Davis Statement on Michael Flynn Charges Dropped

May 7, 2020

The Justice Department has dropped its criminal case against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI before withdrawing the plea. Moe Davis, former Chief Prosecutor at Guantanamo Bay, Director of the Air Force Judiciary and judge with the U.S. Department of Labor before running for Congress in North Carolina’s 11th District, released this statement:

The announcement that Trump’s “Justice” Department is dropping the Mike Flynn case comes as no surprise given that we have the most immoral, incompetent and corrupt president in American history occupying the White House. This is the same administration that’s fine with bringing 3- and 4-year old children before immigration judges without legal counsel or a parent present, but a retired three-star general who was the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency lacks the intelligence to answer FBI questions truthfully. Even if you accept the faulty premise that Flynn was set up, he swore under oath in court that he was guilty, so he either lied to the FBI or he lied to the court about lying to the FBI. Flynn remains a disgrace to this country despite the action taken today to give him a free pass.
