Moe Davis wins NC-11 Democratic Primary

Moe Davis has declared that he will represent the Democratic Party in the race for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District.

Tuesday night, Davis won his party’s primary handily, amassing over 45 percent of the vote out of a five-candidate field.

Davis, 61, grew up in Shelby. He attended Appalachian State in Boone, earned a law degree from North Carolina Central University and joined the Air Force in 1983, rising to Colonel in 2001 before retiring in 2008 after 25 years of service. He was Chief Prosecutor at Guantanamo Bay from 2005 to 2007.

Davis said he was humbled and grateful to earn his party’s nomination.
